The truth matters, too.
The Observer-Reporter news team has been committed to delivering the truth to our readers for more than 200 years. It's a commitment that reporters, photographers and editors don't take lightly.
It's not easy work. We knew it wouldn't be, though, when we signed on for the job. Sometimes we lose sleep to cover a fire or some other disaster in one of the communities we serve. And sometimes we lose sleep because we're obsessing about that coverage: Was the headline powerful? Could I have written that story differently? Did the photo help tell the story?
We have plenty of awards hanging on our newsroom walls that confirm we're doing things right. The accolades are nice, but we don't do our jobs for the recognition. We do it for you, the reader. And without you, we can't do it.
