Each week, the Observer-Reporter asks Facebook friends to respond to a question about an issue in the news. This week, we asked, “What are your thoughts about the amount of media coverage devoted to the royal wedding this past weekend?”
Robin Evans: If you were annoyed with the coverage, and the hype leading up to it, blame the media outlets ... not the royal family. Both William and Harry hate the media, particularly the paparazzi, for obvious reasons. I bet if Harry had the choice, he would have eloped. I laugh when people say, Didn’t we go to war to be independent from the royal family?” Relax. It’s just a wedding, of our closest ally, by the way.
Mildred Rose: Absolutely beautiful in the simplicity of it all!!
Kimberly Keller Chadwick: I thought America had its independence from Great Britain so we wouldn’t have to care about the royal wedding.
Tracy Nelson Horne: I totally dig romance ... The whole thing was romantic and very laid back ... I think even older gals like me still enjoy real life fairytales ...
Cindy Clough Aleski: What a lovely photo! I enjoyed the wedding coverage, as it will probably be the last one I will see. Just a personal note: Aren’t the mothers supposed to wear different colors? They both seem to be in a color of light green. Both are stunning, especially Meghan’s mother. Loved it! The queen was also lovely!
Denise Weisser Cassidy: Overkill as usual with the royals. Why would their wedding be any more special that anyone else’s? They just get to sensationalize it and have the media to do it. There are plenty of special beautiful weddings happening every day of the year with pics that nobody ever sees.
Gary Chaney: I am so over the royals and movie stars. Pay more attention to your family, friends and neighbors.
Vicky Lesjak: Loved it! It was like watching a Disney movie!
Pat Geary: I loved it ... such a happy couple.
