Each week, the Observer-Reporter asks Facebook friends to respond to a question about an issue in the news. This week, we asked: “With the mid-term elections a few months away, what are your thoughts about the integrity of our electoral system and mechanisms?”
Brandon Keenan: Working IT I can tell you that anything electronic can be manipulated. Paper ballots are the best way to go. I’d rather have to wait a few days then deal with someone who wasn’t voted in for 4 to 8 years.
Pat Barnhart: I agree that electronic voting machines can be hacked so we really need a backup of paper ballots. And I don’t mind waiting a few days either. With other countries trying their best to change votes we need some kind of backup. And yes, go over the registration rolls and delete who needs to be deleted. I really don’t believe the numbers would be high.
Brenda Neckerman: They have no integrity. Hacked into by 11-year-olds. Voter rolls full of dead people. People voting more than once. Noncitizens voting. Media swaying votes.....
Marilyn Mankin Gallagher: With approximately 20 million illegals in this country we absolutely need voter I.D. and the E.C. is a must unless you only want California and New York to choose our government!
Nicolas Borovich: In order to vote you should have to have your voter registration card and state-issued ID. No exceptions.
