Child endangerment charge: Shawn Marie Stiles, 44, of 510 E. George St., was charged by state police with driving under the influence of alcohol, endangering the welfare of children, operating a vehicle without an ignition interlock and five summary traffic violations following a traffic stop on her street last month. Police said they had stopped Stiles for driving under suspension when they smelled alcohol on her. Police said she also had several empty cans of beer in the car, along with a juvenile. Police said Stiles appeared to be intoxicated when she took the field sobriety tests. Police said she refused a breath test.
Theft charge: Daphne Danelle Stewart, 28, of 793 Dutch Run Road, Waynesburg, was charged by state police with theft after she allegedly stole more than $600 from Little Caesars, 211 S. Vine St., where she had been employed. Police said on May 9, Stewart was supposed to leave money in the register and deposit cash to the bank. When the store opened the next day, the cash was missing and the deposit never made, police said. They added that Stewart has not returned to work and that the store was unable to make contact with her.
Crash: James Craig King Jr., 28, of 274 W. Roy Furman Highway, Waynesburg, was charged by state police with leaving the scene of an accident and four traffic summary violations following a multi-vehicle crash on West High Street May 28. Police said multiple cars were involved in a rear-end-type of collision, after which King, who had a suspended driver's license, allegedly fled the scene.
Scattering rubbish: A 72-year-old Greensboro man reported to state police that sometime between Thursday and Saturday, someone dumped a truckload of used tires on his property in the 800 block of Bobtown Road.
Theft: Kukurin Contracting Inc. of Export reported to state police that someone stole $3,200 worth of power tools from a storage shed on a construction site on South Eighty Eight Road. Police said the thief also did damage to the storage unit.
Burglary charge: Thomas Eugene Allen Jr., 26, of Cameron, W.Va., was charged by state police with burglary, criminal trespass, theft and criminal mischief after police investigated an Oct. 25 incident. Police said they found Allen's fingerprints at a residence in the 500 block of McCracken Road that had been broken into that day while the owner was gone. Police said Allen allegedly had taken a bottle of Xanax, an iPad, tools and a cowboy hat. Police said there were pry marks on three gun safes that were in the house. Police said they were able to lift Allen's fingerprints from the safes. Police said the victim knew Allen, but that Allen "had no business" being at the house.
Crash: A Waynesburg man was not injured in a Sunday evening crash on Bell Run Road. State police said Joshua A. Wine, 39, was traveling north when he struck a deer, before his vehicle left the roadway and struck a block storage building.
