Drug charges: Wesley Eric Shaffer Jr., 21, of 272 Sheridan Ave., Nemacolin, was charged by the Greene County district attorney’s office with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia following his Dec. 18 arrest on an unrelated matter. According to the criminal complaint, a Greene County sheriff’s deputy found cocaine and a smoking device on Shaffer during the arrest.
Assault charge: Mitchell Thomas Phillips, 22, of 135 Pershing Boulevard, was charged by township police with terroristic threats, simple assault and harassment following a domestic dispute at his residence Tuesday night. Police said about 9:51 p.m., Phillips argued with a woman at his residence before grabbing her by the throat and telling her he would kill her.
Drug charges: An inmate at the Greene County jail is facing drug charges after a corrections officer reportedly found white power on his face and 20 plastic bags in his hand last month. James Turner Lewers Bagley, 32, of 329 Grant Lane, Nemacolin, was charged by state police with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia after four white Subutex tablets allegedly were found on his person. Bagley is in jail on theft, assault and other charges for an unrelated incident.
Criminal mischief: A 27-year-old Wayne Village woman reported to state police that Wednesday evening her windshield was damaged while her car was parked near her residence.
