A Peters Township man and his two sons are in jail in connection with a series of burglaries.

Lawrence N. Farkas, 68, Noah Aloysius Farkas, 27, and Benjamin Farkas, 23, of 123 Elm Grove Drive, were all charged by Peters Township police with receiving stolen property and conspiracy after police executed a search warrant at their house.

The investigation began Jan. 4 following the burglary of a Thompsonville Road home. Noah Farkas allegedly was seen by neighbors walking around the area. He allegedly stole $7,375 in jewelry, a gun safe and two handguns, power tools, $2,650 in electronics, cash and video games. Police said he had sold some of the jewelry to a Pittsburgh pawn shop.

On Jan. 15, police executed a search warrant on his house, where they said they found some of the stolen items. In that case, they charged Noah Farkas with receiving stolen property, burglary and theft.

During that search, police said they found some stolen items in Benjamin Farkas’ bedroom, along with several empty stamp bags.

On Jan 31, police initiated a traffic stop of Lawrence and Benjamin Farkas in North Strabane Township. In their vehicle, police said, were multiple stolen items – Nikon and Nikkor cameras and camera accessories – that had been reported stolen in an August 2015 burglary in Peters Township.

Later that day, police executed a second search warrant on their residence, where they said they found additional stolen items from the August 2015 burglary and a May 2015 burglary, including a watch, a Nintendo Wii, a PlayStation 2, a hard drive and camera equipment. The value of everything recovered was about $3,245. In Noah Farkas’ bedroom, police said they found jewelry, birth control pills, a computer and a camera.

Following the second search of their residence, the three were charged with receiving stolen property. Lawrence and Benjamin Farkas also were charged with conspiracy, and Benjamin Farkas faces a second count of receiving stolen property and two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia.

All three were arraigned Monday afternoon by District Judge Jesse Pettit. Lawrence and Benjamin Farkas are being held on $50,000 bonds, while Noah Farkas is being held on $150,000 bond. Their preliminary hearing is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Feb. 19.
