Fire destroys Greene County house, garage
Fire destroyed a house and garage in Greene County early Sunday morning.
Firefighters were called to the blaze at 130 Goodhill Road in Washington Township near the Washington County line shortly before 5 a.m. and found both structures engulfed in flames, Waynesburg-Franklin fire Chief Jeff Marshall said.
No one was home at the time of the fire, Marshall said, because two adults who were living there had partially moved out of the house. He did not identify the occupants.
The house’s upper floors collapsed into the basement and the garage was a total loss, Marshall said. The state police fire marshal is investigating the cause of the blaze.
Waynesburg-Franklin volunteer firefighters were assisted at the scene by firefighters from Jefferson and Amwell.
