Firefighters extinguished a blaze Monday evening at the PennDOT offices in Franklin Township.

A fire at the state Department of Transportation office in Franklin Township, Greene County, was extinguished before 8 p.m. Monday.

Details about the blaze and its origin were not immediately available, according to Valerie Peterson, PennDOT District 12 community relations coordinator.

“We have a continuity of government in place for the whole state and will make sure services are rendered as necessary,” she said.

The office is located at 169 Jefferson Road, 1.5 miles from the Waynesburg-Franklin Township Volunteer Fire Company station.
