An Ellsworth woman faces a felony assault charge after she allegedly stabbed a man in Bentleyville.

State police charged Jennifer Ann Walchli, 31, of 106 S. Pine St., with strangulation, aggravated assault, simple assault and harassment.

According to the criminal complaint, the incident occurred Tuesday morning at a residence on Old West Road in Bentleyville. Court papers state David Labishak told police Walchli “flipped out” after he asked who was calling her her phone.

Walchli shoved Labisshak, began choking him and then stabbed him in the left bicep, the complaint said. She fled the scene before police arrived.

“Labishak had fresh wounds on both sides of his throat, and a puncture wound to his left bicep,” the complaint states. There was also blood inside the residence and on the sidewalk outside the front door.

According to the complaint, police found Walchli at her South Pine Street residence, and she had dried blood on her lower left leg.

The complaint states Walchli offered a different version of events to police. She told police she was laying on the couch at the Old West Road residence when Labishak knocked on the door. She said he was bleeding and while she attempted to help him, she left because he became argumentative.

Police found a blue sweatshirt at Walchli’s residence that had dried blood on it.

Walchli was arraigned before District Judge Jesse Pettit and placed in Washington County jail on $15,000 bond. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 11 a.m. April 10 before Pettit.
