The widow of the Canton Township man whose body was found Wednesday in a wrecked vehicle in Jefferson County, Ohio, a week after he went missing, is planning to hold a balloon release in Washington to mark her late husband’s birthday today.

April Goudy said the ceremony will take place at 6:30 p.m. at Twist Softball Field No. 5 in Washington Park. Her husband, Anthony Goudy, would have turned 51.

She said the commemoration is open to anyone who wishes to participate: “I’m asking that people, if they can, wear red, and bring their own balloons, red mylar; no rubber. They can write a message on the balloon if they want.”
