WAYNESBURG – A number of criminal defendants pleaded guilty last week before Greene County Court. Those appearing before Judge Lou Dayich included:

Aaron Michael Redman, 20, of 137 Orchard Drive, Waynesburg; institutional vandalism, disorderly conduct, criminal mischief; transported to Greene County Courthouse for a meeting with his probation officer Oct. 11, Redman damaged a cell door, refused commands, slipped out of handcuffs and a restraint chair; sentence – 90 days to two years in jail, 2 months and 7 days Recidivism Risk Reduction Incentive boot camp recommendation, $19.20 in restitution to the sheriff’s office.

Faheem Anthony Rochester, 26, an SCI-Greene inmate at the time of the incidents; aggravated harassment by a prisoner; state police said Rochester threw a milk carton full of feces and urine at two corrections officers April 22; sentence: 15 months to 7 years in prison; aggravated harassment by a prisoner; police said Rochester was in a group session with a psychological services specialist when he spit on the specialist June 9; sentence – 15 months to 7 years in prison, concurrent to the previous case.

Anthony Warren Stankowitz, 29, of 123 ½ N. Maiden St., Waynesburg; disorderly conduct and two summary violations; police said Stankowitz provided false information during a traffic stop on the I-79 on-ramp Sept. 26; sentence – $425 fine.

Roger Keith Grim, 41, of 240 Big Shannon Run Road, Mt. Morris: driving under the influence of alcohol, third offense; five summary violations; arrested Aug. 17, Grim had a blood-alcohol content of 0.139 percent; sentence – 5 years in the county intermediate punishment program, with the first 30 days in jail and the next five months on house arrest; eligible for weekend sentence – $1,625 in fines, 90 hours of community service.

David Alan Swaney, 29, of 216 College Ave., McClellandtown; retail theft, third offense; Sept. 11, 2016, Swaney stole $15 worth of items from the Ruff Creek Store; sentence – time served from Aug. 30 to Sept. 15 to 1 year in jail; restitution.

Shyan Michael Strosnider, 24, of 358 N. Moreland St., Bobtown; theft, receiving stolen property; police said Strosnider stole a television from a home on Turkey Knob Rod in Greene Township on June 29; sentence – 18 months of probation.

Michael Allen Rickard, 25, of 133 Dunn Station Road, Prosperity; two cases of DUI, one case of retail theft, one case of open lewdness; police said Rickard was under the influence of marijuana and had a BAC of 0.082 percent when stopped April 23, 2016; he refused a BAC test when arrested Sept. 2; he and two others stole $52.11 of merchandise from the Cumberland Township Sheetz Sept. 14; Sept. 28, he and his girlfriend participated in sexual activity in public in Fort Jackson Building in Waynesburg; sentence – 90 days to 5 years in jail, credit for time served from Oct. 21 to Oct. 30 and from Dec. 8 to Jan. 9; $2,325 in fines; 200 hours of community service.

Mildred Luvone Dixon, 56, of 3 Terry Court, Downingtown; no contest plea to possession of drug paraphernalia; charge of possession of a controlled substance withdrawn; cocaine was found in the corner of a plastic bag found in her vehicle Oct. 31, 2015 in the parking at SCI-Greene; sentence – 12 months of probation.

Defendants who appeared before Judge Farley Toothman included:

Jesse William Patterson, 30, of 52 Wood St., Waynesburg; criminal trespass, criminal mischief, harassment, disorderly conduct; police said Patterson kicked down a door on Morris Street in Waynesburg and screamed at the resident; sentence: 2 to 5 years in prison, 18 months with the RRRI program, recommendation for boot camp; $300 fine, $1,200 in restitution. Patterson was sentenced in a separate case to a concurrent sentence for burglary and theft for stealing at least $200 from a donation box at St. Ann’s Catholic Church June 16; sentence – $200 restitution, boot camp recommendation, 9 months RRRI and unsupervised parole supervision for a previous case.

Larry Steven Hagyari Jr., 28, of 135 Washington St., Jefferson; pleaded no contest to simple assault and terroristic threats; pleaded guilty to possession of a weapon and disorderly conduct; a charge of attempted robbery withdrawn; police said Hagyari attempted to rob a man on Bowlby Street in Waynesburg with a BB/pellet gun Sept. 7; the man punched him, threw him to the ground and took the gun; sentence – 5 years in the county intermediate punishment program, with the first 3 months in jail followed by 7 months of house arrest.

Syna D. McOsker, 40, of 464 Swagler Road, Scenery Hill; possession of a controlled substance; police said while assisting parole agents at another person’s home in Wayne Township Oct. 19, they found McOsker with two bundles of heroin and needles; sentence – 6 to 12 months in jail, $300 fine, 90 hours of community service.

John Richard Phillips, 21, of 180 Neff Road, Jefferson; possession of drug paraphernalia; serving a warrant on another person April 5, police found Phillips in possession of a marijuana pipe; the court also revoked his participation in the accelerated rehabilitative disposition program for a charge of possession of a small amount of marijuana from a Feb. 28, 2015 arrest; sentence – 1 year of probation, $300 fine, 90 hours of community service.

James Woodrow Hayes, 43, of 905 S. Sherman Ave., Waynesburg; simple assault, disorderly conduct; police said Hayes and another man assaulted a man on Church Street in Waynesburg Oct. 23, knocking him to the ground and punching and kicking him; sentence – time served from Oct. 23 to Nov. 1 to 1 year, $3,527.20 in restitution to Gateway Insurance Co.
