Washington County Parks and Recreation will hold Intro to Snowshoeing at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 26, at Mingo Creek. There will be basic snowshoe instruction followed by a hike on modern snowshoes. Meet at the park office. There will need to be at least 4 inches of snow to hold this program. If there is not enough snow, a hike will be offered. Dress appropriately for the weather and hiking. There is no fee for the program, but preregistration is required by calling 724-228-6867. A limited number of snowshoes will be available for adults and children.

At 7:30, featured speaker Matt Cumberledge, director of the Greene County Historical Museum, will present “Lost in the Millenia, The Monongahela Tradition as Represented in Greene County Pennsylvania.”

Pittsburgh Youth Symphony Orchestra 2019 audition applications are now being accepted. Advance students up to and including college-age may apply. There is no minimum age requirement.
