Peters Creek Evangelical Church invites the community to attend the church’s Strawberry Festival from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Friday, June 14, at 905 E. McMurray Road, Venetia (the St. David’s Episcopal Church parish hall). The menu will include fried chicken, roast beef, sides and strawberry shortcake with ice cream. There will be children’s crafts, a bounce house, a jazz band and a theme basket raffle. The cost for the dinner is $10 for adults, $5 for children 12 and younger and $8 for seniors 65 and older. Dessert only is $4. Tickets are available by calling the church at 724-941-6210. They also will be available at the door. Proceeds benefit missions.

There will be a Hockman chocolate candy sale in the second-floor Guesman Room at Washington Health System Greene, Waynesburg, from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, June 14. Sample will be available. There will be fudge, pretzels, peanut butter meltaways, salted caramels, candy bars, gourmet popcorn and more. Cash, credit cards and payroll deductions will be accepted for employees.

First United Methodist Church, 161 W. Pike St., is holding Free Movie Fridays this summer. The dates are June 14, July 12 and Aug. 9. Doors open at 6 p.m., and movies begin promptly at 6:30. Snacks and beverages are provided. Call the church office at 724-745-5771 for movie selections.
