The holiday season can be a happy time when loved ones gather. Yet this time of year can be especially hard for seniors living independently or distanced from their families. To address the issue, At Home Instead Senior Care has continued the “Be a Santa to a Senior” program.
In the 16th year, Be a Santa to a Senior has provided gifts to isolated or lonely seniors in Bethel Park and surrounding communities. Last year, nearly 300 seniors received presents thanks to the generous support from the community.
A tree is on display now at Washington Crown Center, where holiday shoppers can choose an ornament, buy the requested gift and return it with ornament attached. The tree will be displayed through Dec. 19.
People in the community can visit www.BeaSantatoaSenior.com to find participating locations, volunteer and learn more.
