Anderson grave hotshot

Eric Garland of Centerville took this photo of Ten Mile Dunkard Church and Cemetery in Lone Pine, the burial site of Medal of Honor winner Cpl. Thomas Anderson of Scenery Hill. Anderson was awarded the Medal of Honor for his actions at Appomattox Station, Va., April 8, 1865. He was with Company I of the 1st West Virginia Cavalry and was instrumental in cutting off General Lee’s main supply route and avenue of retreat, forcing the Confederacy to surrender at Appomattox Court House.
