A 17-year-old Connellsville boy is facing charges as an adult for allegedly raping a 16-year-old girl at Carnegie Free Library in Connellsville.

Daquan Tyrek Dudley of West Crawford Avenue is charged with rape, sexual assault and two counts each of aggravated indecent assault and indecent assault.

According to the affidavit, the girl told her father Nov. 9 she was raped the day before and he called police.

She told police at a club meeting Nov. 1, Dudley asked her to go to the basement with him to talk. He kissed her, put her on the floor and sexually assaulted her, she said. She said she told him to stop and he did, then started again.

At the next club meeting Nov. 8, she said he was waiting for her at the front desk, according to court paperwork. She said he hugged her and asked if they could go to the basement, leading her by the hand. She reportedly told police she was “uncomfortable and didn’t really want to go with him, but was afraid to make him angry.” Police said the girl tried to ignore Dudley by playing on her phone but he repeatedly became angry, took her phone and shut it off. She said he pulled her behind bookshelves and she pushed him, trying to escape. He touched her inappropriately, then apologized and said he felt bad, according to police.

Dudley then touched her again and she repeatedly told him to stop but he raped her. She said she told him to stop and tried to push him away.

He later reportedly texted her to apologize.

Dudley was arraigned Monday by Magisterial District Judge Mike Defino Jr., who set bail at $25,000. Dudley remains in Fayette County prison in lieu of bail.
