Police Beat March 7
Man arrested: Raphael M. Dorsett, 22, of 15 Mirage St., McDonald, was arraigned last week by District Judge David Mark on charges of forgery, theft, receiving stolen property, access device fraud and identity theft. Chartiers police said Dorsett allegedly used a debit card owned by Melissa Martin of Chartiers to make purchases at the Circle K store on Henderson Avenue, Canton Township, and Dollar General on Pike Street in Houston. The card was stolen from her home in January. He was placed in the Washington County jail on $25,000 bond. A preliminary hearing before Mark is set for April 3.
Rig jackknifes: The westbound lane in the 800 block of Washington Pike (Route 844), Independence, was closed about 12:40 a.m. Wednesday when a tractor-trailer hit an embankment and jackknifed. Police said there was heavy snow on the road at the time. The road was blocked for about four hours, state police said.
House burglarized: Mt. Pleasant police are looking for information regarding a burglary last month at 64 Clayton Court. A guitar owned by Daniel Salvini that was stolen was found at a music store in Washington. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 724-356-7917.
Faces charge: Linda D. Darrall, 43, of 195 Vaneal Road, Washington, was injured early Monday when her vehicle went off Franklin Farms Road near the entrance to Washington Crown Center and struck about 20 feet of guardrail. North Franklin police said she was taken to Washington Hospital for treatment. Blood was drawn to determine her blood alcohol content.
Wallet lost: Albert Rhome of Graysville told North Franklin police Saturday he lost his wallet containing $800 and credit cards while he was at Washington Crown Center.
