Teen cited: Jessica Garlesky, 19, of Davidsville, Somerset County, was charged by California police with underage drinking, public drunkenness and disorderly conduct after she was found staggering on Pennsylvania Avenue about 1:20 a.m. Friday. When police approached, she started using profanity. The charges will be sent from the office of District Judge Joshua Kanalis.
Escapes injury: Michael Behrens, 54, of Lynn Portal Road, Washington, escaped injury Monday when his vehicle slid on an icy patch in the 1900 block of Henderson Avenue, hit an embankment and then trees, Chartiers police said.
Woman charged: Florence A. Gheen, 61, of 432 E. Chestnut St., East Washington, was charged with theft by East Washington police. Gheen was reportedly visiting Norah Martin, of 342 E. Chestnut, Wednesday. Martin left the room. When she returned, Gheen was gone as was $725 that had been on a table. The charge will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Robert Redlinger.
Charged in threats: Shaelynn Marie Saunoras, 19, of 450 Blue Jay Drive, Canonsburg, was charged Friday by North Franklin police with making terroristic threats and harassment. Saunoras is accused of threatening to have Toni Hewitt of Iola Street shot. The alleged threats were made on the Twitter account of Hewitt’s son Monday.
Trespass charge: Connie Sue Longwell, 59, of Clarington, Ohio, was charged by state police at The Meadows Racetrack & Casino with criminal trespass after she was found there Feb. 2.
Counterfeit money passed: Three, counterfeit $20 bills were passed Jan. 31 at The Meadows Racetrack & Casino, state police said.
Man charged: Joseph Michael Terrell, 23, of 3182 McRoberts Road, Castle Shannon, was charged with receiving stolen property Tuesday after police learned he sold jewelry at a township cash for gold store, township police said. Terrell sold the jewelry at the end of January for $600. The items were listed as stolen during a Castle Shannon burglary, and the victim was able to identify the jewelry from photographs, police said. Terrell was arraigned before District Judge James Ellis and was placed in the Washington County jail on $25,000 cash bond.
Man injured: Jasminkuhar Kathrotia, 26, of McKees Rocks, was injured Wednesday morning when his vehicle drifted onto the shoulder of East Beau Street near Appaloosa Lane and then hit a guardrail and concrete barrier before spinning into a truck driven by Vincent Kovaicek, 43, of 282 Nichols Road, Washington, South Strabane police said. Kathrotia was taken to Washington Hospital for treatment.
Approached in scam: A South Strabane woman told township police Thursday an attempt was made to con her out of money after she answered a help wanted ad on Craigslist. She was told she would get a check for $2,450. She was to deposit the check and withdraw as much money as the bank allowed. She was then to go to Walmart and wire the money to a client.
Wanted on warrant: Melony Anderson, 21, of 475 Addison St., Washington, was placed in the Washington County jail Thursday on bench warrants after Washington police learned she was wanted while responding to a call at her home.
Cable stolen: Guy Braden of 390 Tyler Ave. told Washington police that several hundred feet of welding cable was stolen from the back of his pickup truck Wednesday. The cable was valued at $880.
Charged in assault: Larry Arbogast, 27, whose last known address was Pittsburgh, was charged Friday by Washington police with two counts of simple assault and harassment and one count of disorderly conduct stemming from a Christmas Day disturbance at 50 Campbell Ave. Arbogast is accused of hitting Tyler Ankrom and Sandy Rodgers during a disturbance outside the home, knocking both to the ground. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Robert Redlinger.
